A General Purpose Rating
A General Purpose Rating (GP Rating) course is a 6-month pre-sea training program for careers in the merchant navy that trains individuals for both deck and engine room duties.

To join the Merchant Navy through GP Rating or STCW Courses, you must meet the following requirements:
- ✔ Age: 17.5 to 25 years
- ✔ Educational Qualification:
10th, 12th, Diploma, ITI, Graduates can apply
10th Pass with minimum 40% marks
- ✔ Medical Requirements:
Vision must be 6/6 (no color blindness)
No serious medical issues as per DG Shipping rules
- ✔ Physical Fitness:
Minimum height: 157 cm
